It’s a hat trick for Blueberry Public Relations!

Last week was full of celebrations as both Cleankill Pest Control and London Network for Pest Solutions (LNPS) took home awards at the National Pest Awards and the Association of Public Service Excellence (APSE) Awards.

Both Cleankill and LNPS attended the National Pest Awards this year. These awards are the highlight of the pest industry calendar and recognise the excellence demonstrated by pest controllers and the businesses that employ them.

LNPS took home the very first Diversity and Inclusion award beating pest control businesses from all over the country. The judges were looking for a company with an inclusive workplace in which employees of all backgrounds and beliefs are valued. LNPS is based in the London Borough of Newham where more than 102 languages are spoken. The company partnered with The Language Shop which meant their staff could easily access translation services. They also wanted to make work accessible for people who may not be able to come into an office, particularly women with children who need to work from home as well as people with physical disabilities, so they implemented remote working. LNPS Managing Director Paul Cooper said: “This award means so much to me personally and to the team. It reflects and recognises how important everyone in LNPS is and how important our diverse community is to us. To be the first company to win this award makes it even more special”.

The celebrations that evening didn’t stop, with Cleankill’s Josh Bates then going on to win the very prestigious ‘Pest Controller of the Year’ award. This award is very competitive with Josh beating thousands of other pest controllers from around the country - it recognises individuals who go the extra mile. The judges were impressed by Josh’s Level 3 Certificate in Pest Control and the range of courses and qualifications he has completed. Josh went from working at John Lewis to following in his father's footsteps and joined Cleankill five years ago. Since then has excelled in the industry. Josh said “I love the pest control industry and I only wish I had become involved in the industry sooner. It’s a career I am completely committed to and every day brings huge job satisfaction. I am really thrilled to have won the Pest Controller of the Year Awards and still can’t quite believe it. I have worked very hard to prove myself as a professional pest controller and to get this sort of recognition from people outside the company is very important to me.”

The next evening LNPS were up for another award at the APSE Annual Charity Awards Dinner, held in aid of Parkinson’s UK. They took home the Best Efficiency and Transformation Initiative award. The APSE awards are for all local authorities and their public-sector partners across the United Kingdom recognising frontline services teams as well as special initiatives.

Mo Baines, APSE Chief Executive, said: “APSE is proud to give local authorities the recognition they deserve through the Annual Service Awards. This year’s winners are a testament to the innovation, dedication and perseverance shown by the unsung heroes of local government – congratulations to you all!.”

LNPS Managing Director Paul Cooper shared his delight in winning this sought-after award saying: “We are doing a lot to set trends in our industry and by sharing our success and ideas we hope that others will be able to learn from what we have achieved – especially when it comes to our innovative pest-proofing service.”

We are very proud of our two clients and these awards are a testament to their hard work, dedication and success.
